Clementine is a serial hugger these days. She hugs us, she hugs friends and family, strangers and animals, and even an inanimate object if it looks soft and inviting.
It had been a whole 2 months since our last Bat Mitzvah (for cousin Rosie) so of course we were excited to head back to Philly to celebrate cousin Ben becoming a man!

What is it about Annabelle? What is it about her that leaves me, someone who writes whole articles about fitness etiquette and video conferencing by day, at a loss for words? Sure, she’s surprisingly smart (latest interest: planets). And she has amazing, incredibly mature taste in music (Ingrid Michaelson is tops this month). Her observations/questions about the world around her leave us in stitches on a daily basis (just ask her why you need to keep trying food you don’t like, or what she thinks of Lady Gaga’s wardrobe). And speaking of wardrobes, she certainly has a style that’s all her own (recently: multiple tutus, layered, topped off with a space helmet, as play wear).
Last year my New Year’s Eve consisted of spending the night hobbling in and out of Clementine’s nursery by the hour. I’d had a c-section just 2 days before and the baby was cluster feeding, which meant I was in tears of pain and exhaustion while our next door neighbors were throwing the party of the century on their deck, drunkenly screaming and laughing at top volume till the sun rose.
